A qualified City of Westminster Guide, Richard has lived and worked in London all his life. He has a passion to bring to life the dramatic ebbing and flowing history of the city and to show off its great thoroughfares and squares and buildings as well as some lesser known alleyways and byways. What inspires him most is telling the stories of its great characters - and getting that magic feeling of "it happened here".
Richard worked for over twenty years in the government, is a Literature graduate and a trained and experienced actor. He is also a freelance coach and London bus guide and a volunteer steward and Trustee of the Crystal Palace Museum.
Steve has lived in London for over 20 years and loves its subtle side streets and unexpected corners. As almost every square foot of London has centuries of stories to tell, he was very happy when he qualified as a City of Westminster Guide so he could share his enthusiasm with others. It is fascinating how many Londoners come on Trails walks previously unaware of the vast weight of history all around them.
Steve specialises in Tudor and Stuart London, with a particular interest in the Strand and Covent Garden. As there are many ghost stories in this area, Steve also enjoys leading Trails of the City's winter spectral tours, though so far everyone on the walks has been disappointingly corporeal!
